Hi there, For some strange reason, just lately I keep getting the following message on a black screen at boot up: 'Edit Windows boot options for: Windows 7 Path: windows system32 winload.exe Partition: 1 Hard disk: d3f4b60e /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN ' It then waits for my response. I have used 'Esc', 'Enter' and even changed 'OPTIN' to 'OPTOUT' - all boot up into Win 7 no problem.
I think my Master Boot Record has somehow been altered to offer this screen every time I boot up. I think it relates to the Data Execution Protection, but I really don't want this screen being offered everytime I switch my netbook on. Any suggestions please on how I get back to my Netbook back to booting up straight into Win 7??

The only thing I've found is that sometimes you need to reboot and run Startup Repair a second or even third time for it to resovle problems. I'm not sdaying this will work for you but it has for me in some instances. The only other suggestion is to use Google and in the search field enter the exact error message plus Windows 7 as follows: = or: 'windows 7' '/NOEXECUTE=OPTIN' -XP (include the quotes as part of the search) -XP will elimate any XP related issues from the search results.
